Moving to Dissimilar Hardware

Speak to a Racemi Expert

Racemi is a pioneer in server imaging technology and is the only vendor that can move an image to dissimilar hardware for multiple platforms. For those portions of an image that relate to a specific piece of hardware, DynaCenter compares the configurations of the source and destination servers and reconfigures the necessary components and device drivers to ensure that the image can be run on the new hardware. For example, when performing a hardware refresh, the image might need changes to support a new storage adapter and network interface, DynaCenter automatically manages this.

DynaCenter's deployment profiles allow you to specify several configuration settings when deploying an image, such as IP addresses, VLAN assignments, host name, gateway, routes, DNS servers, external file systems and external volumes on SAN. When deploying an image to a server, DynaCenter will make these configuration changes by modifying the contents of the image as part of its image mobility process. It will make other changes by configuring the network and storage infrastructure surrounding the server, either directly or through a third-party management application.
